When Laurie became a Girl Scout in the 1960s, she had no idea her Girl Scout experience would last beyond her four years as a Brownie and Junior, and long into her adult life.
Her time as a Girl Scout took her on numerous adventures with her troop including trips around Greater Los Angeles, and of course taught her traditional Girl Scout experiences like camping—providing opportunities she wouldn’t have received if not for her time as a Girl Scout.
When Laurie’s Gold Award Girl Scout daughter, Hannah, completed her Girl Scout journey, she encouraged her mom to form a Daisy troop. Now, several years later, those Daisies are now Senior Girl Scouts.
Laurie chose to honor her 20+ years with the Girl Scout organization by including them in her legacy gift planning, thereby ensuring future Girl Scouts have access to the same opportunities that Laurie and Hannah enjoyed.
