The Girl Advisory Team assists Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles on key initiatives aligned with the Girl Scout movement and our strategic plan. Providing insight through the lens of the girl experience, team members make recommendations and influence decision-making at the council level.
All registered Girl Scouts who are in grades 8-12 during fall 2023, and meet the qualifications below, are eligible to apply in fall 2023. Girl Advisory Team members can serve for up to two years or until their high school graduation, whichever comes first.
Girl Advisory Team Responsibilities:
Attend one to two monthly virtual meetings over the course of your service.
This includes one monthly call with the entire group and may include one call with a smaller subcommittee.
Actively participate in all scheduled meetings with other Girl Advisory Team members and staff partners.
Participate in one of the following subcommittees and provide general feedback on key initiatives.
Civic engagement and social impact
Developing relevant experiences for older Girl Scouts
Diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging
Expanding the Daisy, Brownie and Junior experiences
Mental health and wellness
Commit to an additional two-four hours per month to research or perform tasks outside of meetings.
Assist the Senior Director of Girl and Volunteer Experience in providing information to the GSGLA Board of Directors throughout the year.
