Day Camp CIT Leadership Experience

Our CIT leadership program is a weeklong, experiential camp-leadership opportunity where you will discover, connect, and take action at day camp building upon different leadership skills. Each week you will grow your confidence through team building, self-discovery, and activities that leave a lasting impact on campers. The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles progressive leadership program gives you the skills, experiences, and opportunities to let your leadership light shine.

CIT 1 - All Day Camps toggle arrow

Prerequisites: Interest in becoming a leader in Girl Scouts and entering high school.

Girl Scouts learn the foundation of camp leadership through team building, self-reflection, and identifying personal growth areas. CITs will leave camp able to assist with implementation of camp for younger campers.

CIT 2 - All Day Camps toggle arrow

Prerequisite: Must have completed CIT 1.

Girl Scouts will utilize gained knowledge and resources from their CIT 1 experience to plan and lead camp activities with minimal direction and to provide mentorship to CIT 1s and PAs. CIT 2 participants will also learn how to apply these new skills outside of camp and in future endeavors

LIT (Lifeguard-in-Training) - Marine Landing Day Camp ONLY toggle arrow

Prerequisites: Must have previous CIT experience at Marine Landing and be entering 11th or 12th grade.

Ready for a hands-on challenge? Girl Scouts learn basic lifeguarding skills and assist our waterfront staff with boating instruction throughout the day. They'll practice rescue skills from the American Red Cross lifeguard course, spend their day in and out of the water, and play a key role in keeping campers safe. This program is perfect for CITs who are ready to lead, take charge, and work toward their future lifeguard certifications.

Overnight Camp CIT Leadership Experience

Discover, connect, and take action as you spend two weeks (Monday-Friday) at Camp Lakota building your leadership skills! Grow your confidence through team building, self-discovery, and activities that leave a lasting impact on campers. The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles progressive leadership program gives YOU the skills, experiences, and opportunities to let your leadership light shine!

CIT 1

During your two weeks at Camp Lakota (Monday-Friday) as a CIT 1, you'll learn the foundational leadership skills needed to be a leader and mentor to those around you.

CIT 2

Prerequisite: Must have completed CIT 1 at Lakota. 

Have you completed the CIT 1 program? Are you ready to take your leadership skills to the next level? The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles progressive leadership program gives you the skills, experiences, and opportunities to let your leadership light shine. During your three weeks at Camp Lakota (Monday-Friday) as a CIT 2, you'll build on your leadership skills learned in CIT 1 and play a larger role in mentoring campers and helping create a camp culture.

CIT 3

Prerequisites: Must have completed CIT 1 & 2 at Lakota.
