Where girls rise, shine, and take flight—Mariposa is back! 🦋

Nestled in the foothills of Altadena, Mariposa (which means butterfly in Spanish) is a magical place for Girl Scouts to spread their wings and grow into themselves. It's cozy, park-like setting is the perfect space for renewal—the special kind that only time spent with friends in the fresh air brings. With a large grassy yard and outdoor amphitheater, the gated facility invites girls to run, sing, dance, and make the most of time together outdoors. In addition to hosting one of our council's most popular summer camps, Mariposa is available for day and overnight rental throughout the rest of the year.

Health & Safety Updates Post-Eaton Fire toggle arrow

As you likely know, the Eaton Fire caused minor damage to our Mariposa property in Altadena. We're happy to report that repairs to the buildings have been completed by licensed contractors, and the environmental remediation contractors who were referred to us by Eaton Fire Residents United (EFRU) continue to monitor the property to ensure its restoration prioritizes health, safety, and ecological resilience and meets the latest LA County Public Health standards. As always, the health and safety of our Girl Scouts, families and staff is our top priority

GSGLA acknowledges that we gather as a Girl Scout family on the land of Southern California indigenous peoples, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it through the generations. This calls us to commit to continuing to learn how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit as well. When you visit the Mariposa program center, you are standing on the traditional land of the Tongva Gabrieleño and Fernandeño Tatavium.
