Marine Landing

There is no better, more iconic, Southern California setting than the view of palm trees, sandy beaches, and boats floating by, all of which can be found at Marine Landing. This premier waterfront facility is set in picturesque Alamitos Bay in Long Beach and includes its own private beach for swimming. Come for the sun, stay for the fun, and don’t forget the sunscreen!

From June to mid-August, Marine Landing operates nine weeks of summer day camp and is open to girls K-12 seeking adventure! Registration is now open.

Main Building

  • One large open multiuse common room for meeting or sleeping and one smaller adjacent room
  • Property accommodates 100 for day use, 40 for overnight use
  • 9 picnic tables, 5 folding tables and 40 folding chairs
  • No heat or A/C

  • 1,850 square feet
  • 2 bathrooms totaling 5 toilets, including 1 ADA accessible toilet and shower

Parking: Property is gated, and there is a small area to park (fits 5-6 cars) on property. For additional cars, you can park in the marina parking lot on Appian Way for free (please pay attention to posted signs) during the day. For overnight parking of extra cars, up to five overnight parking passes can be obtained by calling the Marine Department 562-570-3236 in advance.*

  • Boating at Marine Landing: The council offers Water Fun Weekends throughout the year when waterfront instructors are on hand to provide the ultimate aquatic experience complete with kayaks and canoes. Look on the council’s activity calendar to register for these events.
  • Swimming: Troops may use our private beach for swimming ONLY if a certified lifeguard is present and the certification is emailed ahead of time. Alternatively, troops may swim next door at the public beach (Mother’s Beach) if a city lifeguard is present. To see if a city lifeguard will be at Mother’s Beach you can call 562-570-1360.
