Ready to make a meaningful difference in a Girl Scout's life?
Every Girl Scout deserves caring adults who can recognize when they need support and respond with confidence, compassion, and care.
Youth Mental Health First Aid equips volunteers, caregivers, and community members with practical tools to support the well-being of young people and help create environments where Girl Scouts feel seen, valued, and connected. You'll leave with skills you can use right away to strengthen the support you provide and help every Girl Scout thrive.
During this training, participants will learn how to:
- Recognize signs that a young person may be experiencing a mental health challenge.
- Respond with greater confidence and help connect young people to appropriate support.
- Foster a supportive environment where Girl Scouts feel connected, valued, and cared for.
Research shows that strong relationships and a strong sense of self help build resilience and support overall well-being. Caring adults play an important role in helping Girl Scouts feel supported as they navigate challenges, build confidence, and discover the power within themselves. This training strengthens your ability to be that trusted source of support and encouragement.
Two weeks prior to the in-person skills training date, you will be emailed instructions to complete the self-paced online training through the Mental Health First Aid website.
You will need to COMPLETE the entire online course prior to attending the skills session you registered for.
