Troop leadership is deeply rewarding, but it can also be demanding,
overwhelming, and all-consuming. Self-Care, Less Burnout is an
engaging, practical workshop created specifically for Girl Scout troop
leaders who juggle multiple roles while striving to deliver meaningful
experiences for their girls.
Led by a licensed clinical
psychologist who is also an experienced troop leader, this session
explores the realities of leader burnout, common stressors, and the
consequences of neglecting personal well-being. Participants will gain
a clear understanding of how chronic stress affects both personal
health and leadership effectiveness, and why self-care is not a
luxury, but an essential leadership practice.
Through a
compassionate, relatable approach, the workshop introduces sustainable
self-care strategies that go beyond basic needs, with a focus on
emotional, social, and psychological wellness. Leaders will learn
practical tools such as setting healthy boundaries, delegating
responsibilities, building support networks, and managing expectations
without guilt or perfectionism.
Participants will leave
feeling validated, empowered, and equipped with realistic strategies
to reduce burnout, strengthen their leadership, and create a more
balanced and joyful troop experience. Because when leaders are
supported, troops thrive, and you can't pour from an empty cookie box.
