American Red Cross self-paced online training that will prepare you to recognize severe, life-threatening bleeding emergencies and to take action safely.
This course is to prepare adults and older girls (Cadette, Senior, & Ambassadors) to recognize and to make decisive, lifesaving actions to assist a person with a traumatic injury and life-threatening bleeding until professional responders arrive. You will learn how to ensure safety and communicate effectively in an emergency, and control life-threatening bleeding using direct pressure, a tourniquet, or both. This class is recommended as additional training to build on CPR/AED & First Aid certification.
Complete this course in three parts:
1. Register here to choose your online session date.
2. On the start of your online session, you will be emailed instructions on how to complete the self-paced online training through the American Red Cross website
Note: Registrants must have their own separate email addresses to create an account with American Red Cross. Also, this course does not work on Safari browsers.
3. This course can take up to 2 hours to complete. Registrants have two weeks to complete the course.
Once you have completed the course and passed the final quiz, your American Red Cross Learning Center will mark the class complete and send you your certificate. If registrants do not complete the course by the end date and/or do not successfully pass the course, no refunds will be issued, and registrants will need to register and complete the entire training again.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
- Registration is paid in full at time of registering
- Cancellations prior to close of registration are subject to a 10% administration fee
- All cancellations after close of registration: no refund
- If registrants do not complete the course by the end date and/or do not successfully pass the course, no refunds will be issued, and registrants will need to register and complete the entire training again
- The council will provide a refund if an activity is cancelled due to insufficient registrations, acts of nature, or other reasons beyond its control.
- Please allow 2 weeks to process refunds. Refund will be credited back to original form of payment.
