Join us for a nature adventure inspired by Tortoises on the Trail! Author Gisa Nico will read the story aloud, then we'll explore how numbers and patterns show up outdoors. Hunt for shadows, sort nature treasures, and make your own way to measure-just like a scientist! By the end, you'll feel like a real nature detective and earn the Daisy Numbers in Nature Badge.
Get ready for an awesome outdoor adventure where YOU become a real
nature explorer! Inspired by Tortoises on the Trail, this program
starts with a special read aloud of the book by author Gisa Nico
herself-just for you! Then the fun continues as you discover how
numbers, patterns, and measurements are hiding everywhere in nature.
You'll look closely at tortoise shells, pinecones, seashells, and
other nature treasures to spot cool patterns and surprises. We'll go
on a shadow hunt, sort the amazing objects we find, and even make our
own way to measure things, just like real scientists do. You'll learn
that math isn't just something in a classroom-it's a superpower that
helps you explore the world.
By the end, you'll be a curious,
confident nature detective and earn your very own Daisy Numbers in
Nature Badge to take home!
This is a troop and/or individual Girl Scout event. Both Adults and
Girl Scouts must register. Adult registration and attendance are
required to meet the appropriate Adult-to-Girl ratio guidelines.
Adults are responsible for health history form and
supervising/assisting girl(s).
Note:
Staff reserve the right to make allowances for more, or to
limit the number of adults due to space limitations. We will notify
you of any changes in advance. Thank you for your understanding as we
try to maximize the number of Girl Scouts who can experience this
program, while also ensuring safe and adequate supervision.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
- Registration is paid in full at time of registering
- For registration fee of $10 or less: no refunds
- For registration fees exceeding $10: cancellations prior to close of registration are subject to a 10% administration fee.
- All cancellations after close of registration: no refund
- No refunds and no prorated refunds will be made for any registrant who arrives late, leaves early, attends only part of the program, or chooses not to attend the program.
- The council will provide a refund if an activity is cancelled due to insufficient registrations, acts of nature, or other reasons beyond its control.
- Please allow one week to process refunds. Refund will be credited back to original form of payment.
