This training is meant to gain the skills and confidence to lead meaningful outdoor experiences on GSGLA's low ropes course elements. This hands-on training equips adults with the knowledge needed to safely access and facilitate low ropes activities across GSGLA properties, including proper use of equipment, course elements, and program tools.
Participants will learn best practices for facilitating low ropes experiences, managing group engagement, and creating a safe, supportive environment for youth. In addition, this training introduces a variety of team-building initiatives, icebreakers, and cooperative games that pair effectively with low ropes elements to deepen learning and strengthen troop relationships.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Safely access and facilitate approved GSGLA low ropes elements.
- Properly use and maintain low ropes program equipment and tools.
- Lead engaging team-building activities that complement low ropes experiences.
- Foster communication, trust, problem-solving, and leadership skills within their troop or group.
- Design intentional programs that help girls get the most out of each other and their low ropes experience.
This training is ideal for adults looking to enhance their outdoor leadership skills while creating fun, challenging, and impactful experiences for girls.
