Lights, camera, influence! At the Girl Scout Media Studio,
participants will create, experiment, and discover how storytelling
shapes the world around us. They'll explore real media careers,
develop original content using professional tools, and learn how
influence works, from building a personal brand to using their voice
with purpose and responsibility. By the end of the program, Girl
Scouts will leave with a finished piece of content, practical creator
skills, and a behind-the-scenes understanding of the business and
impact of influence.
This two hour Influencer Lab is a hands on, collaborative
experience where girls learn how digital influencers and brands work
together-focusing on creativity, strategy, and teamwork rather than
social media popularity. Working in small groups, girls act as an
influencer team hired by a brand to create a mini marketing campaign
for a product.
Participants learn how influencers build a brand, identify a
target audience, and design content with purpose. They explore ideas
like storytelling, visual design, and "hooks" that grab
attention, while thinking critically about why certain content
works.
The program emphasizes media literacy, collaboration,
creativity, and strategic thinking. Girls use age?appropriate tools
like Canva and tablets to design and edit content, and no personal
social media accounts are required. The experience is designed to be
fun, educational, and empowering, helping girls better understand
the digital world they interact with every day.
