The American Society of Civil Engineers invites you to Cal State Los Angeles for a hands-on experience building a functioning car while learning how to apply the Design Thinking Process to solve problems like an engineer.
Girl Scouts earn a badge according to their level:
Daisy Model Car Design Challenge Badge, Brownie Race Car Design Challenge Badge, and Junior Balloon Car Design Challenge Badge.
This is a troop and/or individual Girl Scout event. Both Adults and Girl Scouts must register. Adult registration and attendance are required to meet the appropriate Adult-to-Girl ratio guidelines. Adults are responsible for supervising and assisting girl(s).?
Note: Staff reserve the right to make allowances for more, or to limit the number of adults due to space limitations. We will notify you of any changes in advance. Thank you for your understanding as we try to maximize the number of Girl Scouts who can experience this program, while also ensuring safe and adequate supervision.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

  • Registration is paid in full at time of registering
  • For registration fee of $10 or less: no refunds
  • For registration fees exceeding $10:  cancellations prior to close of registration are subject to a 10% administration fee.
  • All cancellations after close of registration:  no refund
  • No refunds and no prorated refunds will be made for any registrant who arrives late, leaves early, attends only part of the program, or chooses not to attend the program.
  • The council will provide a refund if an activity is cancelled due to insufficient registrations, acts of nature, or other reasons beyond its control.
  • Please allow 2 weeks to process refunds. Refund will be credited back to original form of payment.
