American Red Cross self-paced online training that will prepare you to recognize severe, life-threatening bleeding emergencies and to take action to stop the flow of blood.
The purpose of this course is to prepare adults and older girls (Cadette, Senior, & Ambassadors) to recognize and act when confronted with severe, life-threatening bleeding emergencies. You will learn how and when to control bleeding by applying a tourniquet and hemostatic dressing. This class is recommended as additional training to build on CPR/AED & First Aid certification.
Note: this is a non-certificate course.
Complete this course in three parts:
1. Register here to choose your online session date.
2. One to two days prior to the start of your online session, you will be emailed instructions on how to complete the self-paced online training through the American Red Cross website. Note: Registrants must have their own separate email addresses to create an account with American Red Cross.
3. This course can take up 30 minutes to complete. Registrants have two weeks to complete the course.
Once you have completed the course and pass the final quiz, your American Red Cross Learning Center will note the class has been completed. If registrants do not complete the course by the end date and/or do not successfully pass the course, no refunds will be issued, and registrants will need to register and complete the entire training again.
