KidsCanCode Programming Camps
June 13-24 (Sherman Oaks)
August 1-5 (Pasadena)
Learn to code this summer! Learning to program is empowering—it's about changing your relationship with the technology around you from passive consumer to active creator. It's about learning how to think critically and solve problems. It's especially important to encourage girls to take command of technology: women are dramatically underrepresented in today's hi-tech industries. We can solve this by starting early, giving girls the tools to develop a lifelong passion for creating tomorrow's technology. For 2016, KidsCanCode is offering a variety of week-long day camp programs for all ages and levels of experience. Girl Scout students receive 20% off tuition! Visit http://kidscancode.org/summer for details or call 818-794-0522.

Local Court Field Trip Opportunity & the Justice Patch Program
The Justice Patch Program (see the requirements under our Patch Programs) is designed to help Daisy through Ambassador Girl Scouts develop a sense of fairness, an understanding of why we have laws, and an awareness of how laws are enacted and can be changed. Girls will also learn about the role of lawyers and judges in the community. One of the Justice Patch Program requirements for Brownie through Ambassador Girls Scouts is visiting a local court. The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California (CACB) offers court tours and an opportunity to meet with a judge and his/her staff. To schedule a tour at the CACB, contact Vanessa Keith Garcia at email@example.com. To plan a visit to another local courthouse, please contact that court directly. Justice Patch Program patches are available for purchase at your local GSGLA retail store.
