Sierra Madre Playhouse: Battledrum

This lively, engaging, action-packed play with original songs explores themes of courage, brotherhood, and patriotism - and the stirring legacy of children's service during the Civil War. Hiking Basics Club

Host an International Student
American Councils for International Education (ACIE) is looking for families interested in hosting an international student for the 2010-2011 school year. The host family in agrees to give the student a place to study and sleep (sharing a room is OK), provide three meals a day (and snacks), and transport the student to and from school. In addition, the family is given up to $300 per year to put toward the student's school needs. It is not required that the family have a child in high school. Junior Girl Scout Pet Care Patch Workshop
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles is offering a Junior Girl Scout Pet Care Patch Workshop. If you love animals and are interested in earning a Pet Care patch, come and spend an afternoon at the SPCA-LA. You will learn how to care for and help homeless pets. The spcaLA is in need of adults (18 years and older) to help lead the Girl Scout Workshops. There are six Saturdays scheduled throughout the year. There are two sessions scheduled on each Saturday and each session lasts for three hours.

The volunteer requirement would be to commit to at least six sessions during the year (18 hours total- 3 full days OR 6 half days). Four volunteers would be present during each session. Karate, Pizza & a Patch 
Earn a self defense patch, a special troop pizza party, two weeks of Karate classes, and one private lesson at Monrovia Mile High Karate -- FREE. Kids Revolving Yoga Relaxation Workshop
Kids Revolving Yoga offers your troop an opportunity to earn their Girl Scout From Stress to Success or Junior Girl Scout Stress Less badge. Make Your Own Theatre Arts Badge
Jessica Temple, actress and theatre teacher, is available for individual troops interested in creating a "Make Your Own" Theatre Arts Badge. Jessica will come to your meeting once a week for 4 weeks for an hour and a half and help girls design their own badge. The curriculum will help girls explore forms of improv, character development, theatre exercises and games, as well as a possible culminating event created by the girls. With this experience, each troop will learn more about theatre arts, team building and gain a sense of empowerment as individuals and as a troop. Meals on Wheels West, Special Group Project
Meals on Wheels West is looking for Girl Scouts with fun and exciting ideas that benefit senior, disabled and frail homebound individuals. These individuals are not able to get out of the house and don’t get a lot of visitors. The Girl Scouts can fix that! For ideas on what you can do to help, click here

Ralph’s Earth Day
Speak Out. It's Your Earth! encourages Scouts to find their voice and help make a positive impact on the environment. Rancho Adventure Tours for Girl Scouts!

San Gabriel Valley Humane Society 'Giving Tree'
Make a homeless cat or dog's Christmas wish come true! Visit the 'Giving Tree', part of a Silver Award Project by San Marino Girl Scouts Sarah and Rachel Linton. The tree, located in the Roosevelt Shopping Plaza at 2245 East Colorado Blvd., is adorned with photos of adoptable cats and dogs. On the back of each ornament is that pet's holiday wish! The primary wish of every animal is, of course, to find a loving home, but items such as food, collars, leashes, litter, climbers and toys will make their stay more comfortable. SeaWorld San Diego Girl Scout Sleepovers
Scouting for adventure? A SeaWorld overnight outing provides fun and adventure while exploring nature up-close. Vista Del Lago Water Exploration Program
Vista Del Lago, overlooking Pyramid Lake in Gorman, is a non-profit water education resource center dedicated to educating about the role of water in our California environment. West Basin Water Education and Facility Tours
After six successful years of study and tens of thousands of water-quality tests conducted at its pilot facility in El Segundo, West Basin opened a Ocean-Water Desalination Demonstration Facility at the SEA Lab in Redondo Beach in November 2010. Adjacent to the demonstration facility is West Basin’s new Water Education Center exploring the reliability of imported water coming into Southern California. Public tours of the facility are available on Fridays at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 and on Saturdays at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30. Times can be accommodated. Wednesday and Thursday tours are also available, but please call (310) 660-6200 to make a reservation. Zoopendous Nights
Zoopendous Nights are here! Come to the Los Angeles Zoo for an overnight adventure! Bring your troop to the Zoo for an all-night indoor, interactive experience. Join us as we tour the Zoo after dark, enjoy a pizza/salad feast, participate in hands-on animal activities, and fall asleep to the sound of beastly bedtime stories. Groups will have the opportunity to work on activities relating to accredited badges during their Zoopendous Night experience. This event is designed for children ages seven and up.
