Learn to code this summer! Learning to program is empowering-it's about changing your relationship with the technology around you from passive consumer to active creator. It's about learning how to think critically and solve problems. It's especially important to encourage girls to take command of technology: women are dramatically underrepresented in today's hi-tech industries. We can solve this by starting early, giving girls the tools to develop a lifelong passion for creating tomorrow's technology.

Study Urban Wildlife with the National Park Service
Interested in learning more about your neighbors? This summer the National Park Service would like to invite you to participate in a groundbreaking study of urban wildlife. A diverse range of animals are a huge part of LA’s urban landscape, sitting alongside expansive traffic and sprawling neighborhoods are pockets of green space that are home to a momentous amount of biodiversity. With help from you we can find out why coyotes are thriving, why raptors seem to love phone cables as much as trees, and who taught raccoons to open doors.
Working together with rangers out of downtown LA, girls will learn to Monitor wildlife cameras in their neighborhood, identify local animal species, work with park rangers and biologists to record and analyze data and discover neighbors you didn't even know you had! The NPS will provide the cameras and a Ranger to work closely with in order to obtain the pictures from the camera and identify the animals we capture on film.
If you are interested in learning more please contact Coral at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 805-906-1771
