Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition Ceremony April 13th
Join us from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13th at the Pacific Palms Hotel for our Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. Registered members will vote on key issues including new Board Members and bylaw changes, and we’ll honor the dedicated volunteers who form the backbone of our Girl Scout programs. Register today!
Follow Me Girls, April 20th
Join Girl Scouts and the GSGLA Heritage Group at the Montrose Program Center on Saturday, April 20th to learn what it was like to be a Girl Scout in the early twentieth century. Brownies will meet from 8:30 a.m. to noon and Juniors from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Register here.
Sing, Sing, Sing in Northridge, April 20th
Help Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts learn new and traditional Girl Scout songs at the Wilkinson Senior Center in Northridge from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 20th. Register here.
Feed Your Neighbor, April 27th
Did you know that one out of every four children in Los Angeles County is at risk of hunger? Help Girl Scouts fight the battle against hunger on Saturday, April 27th! Girls will collect food outside Ralphs and Food 4 Less stores to donate to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
Guide Do
gs of America, May 4th
Discover the world of guide dogs with Girl Scouts on Saturday, May 4th at the Montrose Program Center. You’ll experience what it’s like to be a blind person as well as what it’s like to be a guide dog in harness. You’ll learn a little Braille and meet a Puppy Raiser. Please bring a clean, used towel or blanket to donate to Guide Dogs of America. Register here.
2014 Travel Tours
Have you always wanted to travel to Europe or India but couldn't persuade your husband or best friend to go with you? This is your chance to travel in the safe hands of Education First Tours for Girl Scouts and in the delightful company of other Girl Scout alumnae! You can explore Girl Scout footprints in England, France, and Switzerland or visit the Jaipur, Agra, and the Sangam World Center in Mumbai, India. ToGetHerThere Luncheon
On December 5th, 2012, 1,000 Girl Scout alumnae and 100 Emerging Leader Girl Scouts in Greater Los Angeles gathered at the Dolby Theater to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts, honor three of the most successful women in Los Angeles, and launch the ToGetHerThere campaign to establish balanced leadership in the next generation. Saffron & Rosewater Evening at The Fowler Museum
On November 29, 2012, GSGLA Alumnae enjoyed an evening of stories and songs illuminating the struggles of Persian Jewish women and including dramatic readings from Angella Nazarian and other female authors.
100th Anniversary Camporee
Thanks to our many alumnae who volunteered at the Camporee weekend October 26-28, 2012, making it possible for over 5,000 girls to enjoy the ultimate camp-out adventure at the beautiful Lake Perris.
Los Angeles Federal Reserve Bank Tour
Alumnae enjoyed an educational tour of the Los Angeles Federal Reserve Bank on September 17, 2012. We witnessed the extensive cash operations for Nevada, Southern California, and Arizona. Visitors attempted to identify counterfeit bills, saw historic banknotes, and watched the shredding of the nation's unfit currency (up to $29 million per day).
LA County Fair
Thousands of Girl Scouts and Alumnae attended the LA County Fair from August 31 to September 30, 2012, and a portion of their ticket purchase was donated back to GSGLA.
Alumnae Hiked 100 miles for the 100th!
Alumnae and Girl Scouts hiked 100 miles over several weekends in the summer of 2012 to celebrate out 100th Anniversary. It was a wonderful chance to explore the Pacific Crest Trail and reconnect with other Girl Scouts in the area!
Camp Lakota Time Capsule
What a wonderful, fun weekend we had at the beloved Camp Lakota in July 2012! We dug up the 75th Anniversary time capsule and learned all about the plans for zero-net energy lodge to replace the old dining hall that burnt down in 2010.
100th Exhibit at the Lanterman House
Alumnae who are members of the GSGLA Heritage Committee organized 100thAnniversary exhibits in over 30 libraries and museums throughout Greater Los Angeles. One of the largest exhibits was held at the beautiful Lanterman Historic House in La Canada Flintridge and GSGLA Alumnae attended two afternoon events at the home in February and May.
Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition Ceremony
The 2012 Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition (AMVR) Ceremony was Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. It was a great day of shaping our council and celebrating our volunteers!
Tall Ship Sunset Cruise
GSGLA Alumnae enjoyed a coastal tall ship cruise and pot luck dinner. It was a great evening for socializing and adventure. We look forward to doing more tall ship event in the near future.

Tournament of Roses Parade, Monday, January 2, 2012
Thousands of alumnae helped decorate the Girl Scout 100th Anniversary Float in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and got up at the crack of dawn on January 2 to watch the Parade. Click here to see more photos and information.

Free screening at the Warner Grand Theatre. This life changing film about a unique Girl Scout troop that unites daughters with their mothers who have been convicted of serious crimes and face steep sentences.

The largest girl expo in the nation! A sold out event with 10,000 attendees, 500 exhibitors, 50 workshops, and live entertainment throughout the day.

Following our very successful Style Bar event, the GSGLA Alumnae Association hosted a night out at Skin Bar in Santa Monica.

GSGLA alumnae gathered for conversation and an enlightening demonstration on the art of wearing a sensational scarf at the TRUU Design Studio at 93 E. Union Street in Old Town Pasadena. 10% of all purchases made at the event supported Girl Scout programs.

Many Girl Scout alumnae joined us to elect the new members of the Board of Trustees and to participate in our volunteer recognition ceremony. Congratulations to Brian R. Hochleutner and Bernie Horst on receiving the 2011 Visionary Award and to all GSGLA alumnae who were honored at our Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony.
Tour of the New Building for the Children's Hospital Los Angeles

Reunion of Encino Troop 1476
November 5-6, 2010

Eight members of Encino Troop 1476 were reunited with two of their former troop leaders for the 55th anniversary of the inception of their troop. Our thanks go to Ellen Essig-Carpenter for organizing the weekend. Read more about this event.
Forever Green Event in Northridge

On Sunday, October 17, approximately 100 Girl Scouts alumnae (ages 8-94!) gathered in Northridge to reconnect and enjoy an afternoon of traditional Girl Scout activities including lighting a campfire, eating s'mores, and singing songs. Read more about this event.

Forever Green Event in Claremont

On Sunday, May 2, Girl Scouts alumnae gathered in Claremont to reconnect and participate in workshops on cooking, jewelry-making, managing stress, and robotics. The afternoon ended with a traditional Girl Scout campfire.
Girlfriends' Getaway Weekend
July 24-25, 2010
Girl Scouts alumnae spent the weekend at Camp Osito Rancho reconnecting over meals and a campfire and participating in hikes, swimming, crafts, and workshops. It was a perfect way to rekindle camp memories and make new friends!
