Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles serves thousands of girls from under-served communities through its after-school Community-Based Programs.
Ways You Can Support Girl Scouting
Your much-appreciated gift of cash, stocks, or personal property will be put to immediate use, wherever the need is greatest. Be assured that your donation will definitely have an impact!
For example:
- A gift of $250 could fund a campership for a girl to attend a 7-day overnight camp.
- A gift of $125 could fund one year of Girl Scouting for a girl from a low-income family to participate in troop activities through the council's Pathway to Promise Program.
- A gift of $50 could fund a Brownie Girl Scout uniform (sash, blouse and shorts) for one underprivileged Girl Scout.

Double Your Donation Without Giving More!
Did you know that you can DOUBLE the amount of your donation to Girl Scouts without giving a penny more? Many companies and corporations offer employee matching gift programs where they will match your charitable gifts. Other companies will make a donation based on your volunteer hours. The money is there -- just let your company know where to send it!
Contact your human resources department to find out if your company has a matching gift program. Just submit the form provided by your company along with your donation to Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.
Planned Giving
Please remember Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles in your will and estate planning. There are many tax advantages to planned gifts that will allow you to preserve more of your assets for your beneficiaries as well as make significant gifts to charity.
Through estate planning, ordinary people are making extraordinary gifts that positively impact their community.
Pooled Income Fund
Pooled Income Fund Gifts can be designated to Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. Your gift ensures life income to you or someone you care about while securing future support for Girl Scouting.

Life Insurance Gifts
You can make a contribution to Girl Scouting at a low cost through a gift of life insurance, while enjoying tax benefits. It is easy to do--just include Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles as a beneficiary of the policy; or take out a new policy naming the council as a beneficiary. Stocks
There are benefits to donating your appreciated stock. You will avoid capital gains taxes on stocks that have been held for more than one year, but receives the tax deduction for the full value of the stocks at the date of the donation!
Support Girl Scouts While Shopping
If you shop at Ralphs, please register Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles as your charity of choice with the Ralphs Community Contribution Program. It’s easy and you can do it when you check out. If you register Girl Scouts, Ralphs will send a donation (based on dollars spent through the Ralphs Club Card program) to GSGLA!
The current term for the Ralphs Club Card Program began September 1, 2009. If you are currently enrolled in the Ralphs Community Contribution Program, participants will be required to re-register for the new term at www.ralphs.com or by using the scanbar letter at the register. Participants can register for the first time using the same process. Thank you for your support!
In-kind donations
In-kind donations are always appreciated. Some suggestions are listed below:
• Manila file folders
• Avery labels (5160 or 8387)
• 8½" x 11" paper (white or colored)
• Experienced Girl Scout uniforms for the council's Recycled Uniform Program helping families in need obtain uniform components for their daughters.

Our Members Support Girl Scouting!
Although the primary sources of funding for Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles are the annual cookie program, grants from foundations and corporations, special events, donations from members and caring individuals in the community play are major role in our success with girls.
Although we charge modest fees for some events, these fees only cover a portion of the actual cost. Every year, the council must raise sufficient revenues to fund program activities, training for adult volunteers, property development and maintenance, financial assistance for girls, camperships, council-sponsored events and activities, printed materials, supplies, equipment and more.
In order to provide quality programs for girls and the services required to sustain our volunteer adult leadership, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles raises funds through a myriad of ways including fund drives and partnership campaigns.
